Take a look at the 2017 Cardinals schedule to see the best options for you to combine games.
Sunday Sep. 10
Combine this with a visit to the Big House! Catch Michigan hosting Cincinnati on Saturday. If you prefer, drive a little further to catch the in-state “rivalry” of Western Michigan vs Michigan State. Let’s see if the new WMU Head Coach can pick up where PJ Fleck left off.
Sunday Sep. 17
Start Thursday in Cincy for the Bengals vs Texans game, then hang out for the Reds vs Pirates next door on Friday. Make the short drive to Purdue on Saturday as the Boilermakers host the FIU Panthers. Then close out the week with the Colts vs Cards on Sunday! I’ve got great memories from Lucas Oil Stadium based on my trip there in December when Penn State took down Wisconsin to earn a trip to the Rose Bowl.
Monday Sep. 25
Start your weekend early with the Marlins vs the D-Backs on Thursday and Friday. Head to Tempe for the Oregon vs ASU game on Saturday, then back to watch the series finally with the Marlins on Sunday. If you’d prefer to stay after the game, the Giants are in town vs the Diamondbacks Mon-Wed.
Sunday Oct. 1
Not a good weekend for sports – unless the D-Backs are in the playoffs! The NFC game is the only show in town.
Sunday Oct. 8
For it being CFB season, there’s nothing happening in the area – with the exception of a trip to Annapolis to see Air Force vs Navy. It may be a 2-1/2 hour drive, but seeing a game between the Academies is certainly on my bucket-list.
Sunday Oct. 15
Catch the Washington Huskies vs the ASU Sun Devils on Saturday, then head to Glendale for the Cards vs Bucs game on Sunday! For you Southern California-based fans, head down to the Old Pueblo to catch UCLA vs UofA on Saturday instead.
Sunday Oct. 22
A trip to London is a trip unto itself! Unfortunately, the Wandering Spectator doesn’t track non-US football games (yet)!
Sunday Oct. 29
Sunday Nov. 5
Take your pick of Saturday games. You can stay local with San Jose State hosting San Diego State or drive up the Bay to see Oregon State play at Cal. My choice? Cal!
Thursday Nov. 9
The bad blood between these two team is worth the trip on its own. But hey, we can hope the Coyotes or Suns are in town to round out the experience. Nothing else happening in town at this point.
Sunday Nov. 19
Maybe the Rockets vs Suns will be in town, otherwise, stay home for this one. The only potential options for CFB are Iowa State at Baylor or UTSA hosting Marshall.
Sunday Nov. 26
Here’s a great weekend! See the Battle for the Territorial Cup on Saturday in Tempe before catching a rare matchup between these two teams. This is only the 5th match between these two teams and the series is tied at 2.
Sunday Dec. 3
With CFB winding down, no chance at a Saturday game. Maybe bring your sticks and play a round.
Sunday Dec. 10
The Titans come to town, but nothing else at this point. Come back once the NBA and NHL schedules are released.
Sunday Dec. 17
Bowl Season starts up, but there’s nothing in the DC area.
Sunday Dec. 24
Stick around for the 26th to catch the Cactus Bowl at Chase Field.
Sunday Dec. 31
at Seattle CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA 4:25pm ET
New Years Eve in Seattle, but nothing else nearby. Check back after the NHL schedule comes out to see if a trip north of the border can happen.
That wraps up the Cardinals 2017 schedule. Any time a game in a unique location such as London is on the schedule, many fans will make that the priority. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible. In lieu of that, I like the Michigan trip! What’s your favorite?
Note: Game times/dates for weeks 5-17 are subject to change.
