Wandering with the Cardinals – 2020

The Cards made headlines during the draft, but not how you’d expect. Their head coach, Kliff Kingsbury looked like he was ripped out of GQ Magazine as he was shown lounging in his Paradise Valley pad – with his outdoor fire pit burning while temps were in the high 90s and Camelback Mountain adding the backdrop.

Let’s hope Kyler Murray and the team continue to improve so they can make some noise this year. Oddsmakers aren’t too optimistic, putting them in the bottom 1/3 of the league at 60/1 to win it all. Regardless, they were fun to watch last year and with acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins, they will be even more fun this year.

After being in lock-down for almost two months with no live sports action, I’m sure everyone is dreaming about the fall and the return of the NFL. Let’s hope we’re all cut loose and can fill the stadiums once the game we love returns. Start planning your getaway now by checking out their schedule below.

2020 Arizona Cardinals Schedule

Sep. 13at San Francisco 49ers Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA 4:25pm ET

The Cards open the season on the road against the defending NFC Champs. You have plenty of options to make it a long weekend in the Bay Area. Start with the Reds visiting the Giants Thur and Friday. On Saturday, catch some early season CFB with Cal Poly at Cal over in Berkeley or UC Davis at San Jose State by Levi’s Field. If you can, hang out on Monday for the A’s vs White Sox.
Sep. 20Washington Redskins State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:05pm ET

Start the weekend with the Padres vs the Diamondbacks on Friday, followed by BYU at Arizona State on Saturday before the Skins come to town on Sunday.
Sep. 27Detroit Lions State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:25pm ET

At this point, it’s the only game in town.
Oct. 4at Carolina Panthers Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC 1:00pm ET

Why not take the 2-1/2 hour drive from Charlotte to Raleigh/Durham to catch some ACC action with FSU visiting NC State or Wake Forest at Duke on Saturday? Shave off 1/2 hour drive time and head for the mountains to see App State take on Louisiana-Lafayette over in Boone.
Oct. 11NY Jetsat New York Jets MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ 1:00pm ET

A game at Army is on my bucket list. Just a short trip away from the madness of the NYC metro area, Army sits on a picturesque campus along the Hudson. The Black Knights take on Princeton on Saturday.
Oct. 19at Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX 8:15pm ET

Make it a weekend trip to take in this Monday night game. Start on Saturday with K State visiting TCU. On Sunday, tour the DFW area like we did for the Cotton Bowl this year. Then set up early for the big Monday Night game at AT&T. The stadium itself is worth the visit.
Oct. 25Seattle Seahawks State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:05pm ET

Nothing else happening yet. Check back for NHL and NBA schedules.
Nov. 8Miami Dolphins State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:25pm ET

After the bye week, the Cards take on the Dolphins on Sunday and Cal visits ASU on Saturday.
Nov. 15Buffalo Bills State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:05pm ET

Even if you’re not going to the game, head out to State Farm Stadium and watch the Bills Mafia tailgate like no other. Look for the official tailgate of the Bills Backers and take in the madness. Warning: There will likely be table slamming.
Nov. 19at Seattle Seahawks CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA 8:20pm ET

Start on Thursday, but make a weekend of it by taking in a PAC12 game with Colorado visiting the Huskies on Saturday.
Nov. 29at New England Patriots Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA 1:00pm ET

Boston is a great city to explore, but if you want more football, head to Hartford for a UConn vs Army game on Saturday.
Dec. 6Los Angeles Rams State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:05pm ET

With CFB into Championship week, options are limited. You’ll have to see if the NBA or NHL are in town.
Dec. 13at New York Giants MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ 1:00pm ET

Here’s your chance to check something off your bucket list. Just down I-95 in Philly, the annual Army/Navy takes place at the Linc. We hit MetLife last year for the Bills vs Giants game.

Dec. 20Philadelphia Eagles State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ 4:05pm ET

Let’s hope the Flyers and/or Sixers are in town to make it a Philly weekend. Grab some cheesesteaks from Forefathers along with some Tastykakes and Herr’s (I prefer Wise) Potato Chips and you’ve got yourself quite the tailgate.
Dec. 27San Francisco 49ers State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ Time TBA

Will the 9ers be in the hunt again? Chances are the Cards won’t be, but you never know.

Jan. 3at Los Angeles Rams LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA 4:25pm ET

The Cards close the season on the road at the new Sofi Stadium in LA. Head over early and catch the Rose Bowl regardless of who’s playing it, it is after all, the “Granddaddy of Them All”.

There you have it. The 2020 Cardinals schedule along with some other games that stretch your travel budget and all you to make the most of your weekends.

Where will you be wandering?

Stop wondering. Start wandering!
