With the release of the NFL schedule, it’s time to look at the upcoming Oklahoma State Cowboys schedule to see if we can turn a single-game weekend into a multi-game experience. It’s never easy to combine a home game, but the road games allow you to explore new stadiums, campuses and potentially some MLB or NFL games.
2019 Oklahoma State Football Schedule
Aug. 30at Oregon State Beavers
Catch the first-ever matchup between these two schools! Sure it’s a Friday night, but that leaves the weekend for exploring the craft beer scene in Portland.
Sep. 7McNeese Cowboys
Unless you’re a die-hard fan, I’m not sure this is the game for you.
Sep. 14at Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Not far from Stillwater, the Pokes take on the Golden Hurricane. Why not check out the campus and explore the town. Maybe the local MiLB Drillers will be in the playoffs.
Sep. 21at Texas Longhorns
Austin is a great college town worth visiting even without a football game. With the Cowboys in town, Burnt Orange will blend in nicely with OSU Orange. Check out the nightlife along famed 6th Street.
Sep. 28Kansas State Wildcats
Back home in Stillwater, the Pokes welcome the Wildcats. Enjoy the campus and be sure to check out Eskimo Joe’s pre and post-game.
Oct. 5at Texas Tech Red Raiders
Lubbock Texas is in the middle of nowhere, but yet they were able to put together an NCAA Championship caliber basketball team. Let’s see if new head coach Matt Wells can do the same with the football team after Kliff Kingsbury bolted for Arizona.
Oct. 12 OFF
Homecoming in Stillwater will be worth the trip alone.
Oct. 26at Iowa State Cyclones
If you thought Stillwater was hard to get to, I present Ames. With nothing else nearby, either enjoy the campus or take a pass.
Nov. 2TCU Horned Frogs
Back home for TCU in Stillwater – and nothing else happening nearby.
Nov. 9 OFF
Yet another game with nothing else happening.
Nov. 23at West Virginia Mountaineers
Visit Morgantown, listen to “Country Road” and eat pepperoni rolls – just hope they aren’t in the mood to burn couches after the game.
Cap off the year against the Sooners at home and hope you’re in a position for the B12 Championship game!
Dec. 7Big 12 Championship AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
With Championship in Dallas, you might be able to catch a Mavs or Stars game, but we’ll have to wait until schedules are released.
Where will you be wandering this year?
